The gospel - children's reader style...

I keep having dreams that I am telling people who do not know the Lord about Him, pleading with them to turn to Jesus before it is too late.  I can't remember the peoples' faces when I awake, just a sense of urgency to share the gospel with everyone, even people I have spoken to before that have rejected it.  I am reminded of how many times I must have heard the good news in my 33 years of blindness, but somehow that last time it made sense.  It was God's time to save me.  So this gives me hope not to give up on anyone who seems hardened to the things of God.  There is hope for anyone who is still alive.

This morning, the thought occurred to me... what if the gospel were written so simply, a beginning reader could even sound out the words and understand it?  The kingdom of heaven belongs to children, and Paul did not speak with words of human eloquence so this seemed to make sense.  Words started flowing into my head and this is the result:

God our Father made us to be with Him
He never does anything bad.
We all do bad things so we can not be with Him.
When we do bad, we will get bad things.
It will be hot.  It will be dark.  We will hurt.  We will cry.  We can not be near God.
But God our Father is kind.
He loves us.
He wants us to be with Him.
He wants to save us.
So He sent His Son, who is also God
Who did no bad things
to come to us
and live here
and die for us
so we could live.
But He did not stay dead.
He rose from the grave in 3 days.
If we give our life to Him
we will be saved.
God wants to help us.
But we have to let Him.
Turn away from the bad we do.
And turn to Him.
Then He will come in
and live with us
and help us to do good.
and take us home one day
when we are done here.
To be with Him for all time.

Such a simple message but so profound.  The power of God unto salvation for those who would believe.  Foolishness for those who are perishing.  I pray that this simple message would reach hearts even today and they would believe.  And for me not to be ashamed should the opportunity be presented to share the hope that is within me in love.  There is nothing more important.
